I'll never let go, Jack!

But seriously, unlike the movie, I'll never let go of this board and let it die!
Come back to me!!!!

I'm going to be working a ton during July, but I promise I will not let this place die. I just looked up the cost of all my rad tech books for my first semester and holy cow are they expensive! It's a good thing I'll be doing all that working because I'm going to need it to pay for those books. Ugh!

We went to a Crosscutters game last night. It was fun! They won 8-4 and afterwards there were fireworks (they do that after every saturday home game). It was a nice display and it was nice to get out for the evening!

How was everyone's weekend?!

Re: I'll never let go, Jack!

  • As a student you should be able to get amazon prime and look st renting the books. It is ridiculous how cheap it is. For a professional school it's a little different since you may want to keep the books for reference but it's something to think about.

Our weekend was good. We ran an ice cream race on Sat am. It was a "5k" with ice cream themed obstacles. It was pretty fun. Then we went to the Lion King musical. It's the 2nd time I have seen it and it's still fantastic. Other than that our AC went out. Thank goodness for someone coming out yesterday and fixing it.

  • I do indeed have Amazon Prime Student, and I rented a textbook last semester, which was really super nice. But like you said, I think I want to keep my books for reference. I'm going to look around on Amazon and other website to see if I can get them cheaper than at our college bookstore so hopefully that works out!

Did you get to eat ice cream at the end of this race?! Because if so I would have ran it, too. hah! Booo for AC going out! I'm beginning to think we need to get one to put in our living room. We only have a window unit in our bedroom that we use at night, but it's been warmer than usual in our house so far this summer. Last summer it wasn't too bad, but it got warm so quickly that I think the house couldn't keep up. haha!

Good Morning Ladies! Work was crazy busy last week. I like being busy but not so busy I can't think straight and run from one thing to the next. Though a lot of people seem to be on vacation this week so here's hoping this week is smooth sailin!

H and I went home over the weekend, back to Buffalo. It was a nice time. We saw my parents, grandparents, some of my cousins, friends from college and my GF from HS! My hometown also had fireworks on Sat. It was a great display. The finale was awesome!! We ate at one of our favorite restruant twice and had pizza and wings. Plus my dad made his famous tacos! Yummy!!!!

This weekend we are heading back to Buffalo. My uncle's family will be up from FL. My hometown has another carnival type thing with a beer tent and fireworks. Should be a good time!

Aggie: I am so glad to hear that your head is behaving!! Here's to a easier week at work!

JLQ: Yea for sister being closer. Boo for expensive books. I look at some of my text books and think that was a waste of $475.

Echo: hope you had fun at the wedding!

  • Our weekend was good. We had an awesome time at the wedding. Regretted drinking so much wine yesterday but not too bad. It was so fun at the wedding though.

Today I just have 1 daycare child and tomorrow is Canada day so I'm closed. We're thinking of heading to the beach in the morning. It's craZy hot here too. Thankfully there is a bit of a breeze now so it's nice while were out playing.

Yea Crazy Hot everywhere I think. The air conditioner at work doesn't seem able to keep up. Yuck! I hate being hot inside.

My mom just called and she booked the time share in Sedona, AZ for a week next Spring. So excited! Can't wait to see the Grand Canyon and check AZ off my list. Hoping to maybe check NM as well. We shall see! Wohoo!!!

  • Happy Canada Echo!

Degrea I hope work stays a bit calmer this week.

This week is already better at work work one day, have a day off, work 2 days have 3 days off.... ;)

jlq.  Sorry DH is being a jerk.  I hear ya about the books.  Do you know anyone who is ahead of you/ graduated the program?  I would ask them which books they really want to keep and which ones are not useful for reference.  I definitely had both so maybe you can rent some and buy others.

  • I don't really know any of the 2nd years (would have been 1st years last year), so I don't know who I would ask, but that would be ideal. I just ran into one of the girls who will be graduating the program in August at the hospital but it didn't even cross my mind to ask her because we were both working. haha!

Nice work schedule!!!! I have Friday off which wil lbe nice, only I don't know what we'll do it anything.

  • Happy Canada Day Echo!

How the heck is it already July?  that is crazy talk.

I am so flipping lazy this morning.  I am sitting on the couch ready for my first nap of the day.  I would read instead but I left my book upstairs :P

  • Happy Canada Day!!!! Woohhooo!!!!  =D>

I'm not discussing the fact that it's already July. Just no.

Happy day, Aggie! I have decided we need to buy a ranch style house with minimal stairs for that reason. hahah. If I left something upstairs it would stay there until I absolutely needed to go back up. Lazy, party of me.

    Happy Canada Day!!

Work was not super busy yesterday. That or I just decided to ignore the work, haha! Today though the list is getting longer. H and I went to a finical adviser yesterday. He said we were doing good and made some minor suggestions. Yea us! Money sucks!

Tonight we have some more errands to get done. Laundry, Portland, OR research, dinner prep, and prep for this weekend.

Aggie: enjoy your day off. Nap sounds wonderful.

JLQ: I hope H stops being a jerk! I NCIS head slap should do the trick. ;) Just Kidding!

  • Degrea - A financial adviser sounds scary!  But ya for you guys!!
    Are you going to Portland?

I feel like slapping H. He's pretty much ignoring me. Which I don't so much mind. It's too hot to have an argument today. I'm roasting.

That Dino is sort of scary. Haha! We are going to Portland, OR in September. I am looking forward to it. Another state to check off the list. The adviser was sort of scary but I am glad we went. Yea it is too hot to fight right now. Hope he cuts it out!

  • It finally happened!! Yeah!!

We had a fun Canada day yesterday. We went to the beach and ds1 loved the water. Then we had dinner with dh's family which was fun. It was the first time all 4 of the boys - my two plus two other nephews - have been together. We got a cute pic of them.

  • Yay Degrea! She said yes ;-)

Glad you had a great day Echo with family and fun :-)

  • Sounds wonderful!!

This weekend we have our nephews 2nd birthday party. That's our excitement. We also have to do stuff around the house.

And I need to start working out! I'm doing a planning challenge for the month and am trying to do push ups after I plank so it's a start. I just need to tone so badly. I have no weight to lose and haven't been my current weight since probably grade 9.

Working out needs to become a priority. I don't want to be the hippo bridesmaid.

  • By planning I mean planking.

I just feel like I have no time and the time I could use to work out is when the dishes and laundry and cleaning should get done. I think I need to do something different with my timing though because I need to work out
