The bday party that never ends

I've been trying to plan a 30th birthday party for H.

I had the date and location booked two months ago.

Turns out that day is the same day as our alma mater's homecoming, and between H and I, we have 3 reunions.  So that day is out.

The week before is booked, and I'm waiting to hear back on the end of the month.  I don't know what I'm going to do if that date isn't available, it's the only place in town that can really have this party (space wise, food wise, etc)

And the guest list is a 80. Why does he have so many friends?

Please send help.  And booze.

Re: The bday party that never ends

  • My thoughts (and vodka) are with you. It's never freaking easy is it?

  • Hmm...if the place is booked for the date/time that you want to reschedule, can you move it to another time during that same day?  The mister had my 30th birthday (a half decade ago!) at a coffee shop between 4 - 8pm; that time allowed us to have an "after party" at a local bar and invite friends to our house after.  By having it at the coffee shop, we could bring in our own food and booze, and we did "open bar" for coffee and desserts.  I am pretty sure he invited 75-80 people, but about 50 attended. It was tons of fun.

I should also mention that this was a surprise party, which is why I think he chose the 4pm time.  It threw me off.

Now everything is falling into place.

Thank goodness, because I was about to cry.

Good luck with the rest of the planning! Hopefully you don't get any other surprises.
