The first dryer wouldn't fit through the doorway, the second wouldn't fit in the space (who knew there were different widths for dryers, and they weren't standard?!), then they delivered the dryer at the wrong time and we weren't home.
Today at long last our dryer was delivered. 7:15 am they were at the door. Then they brought it downstairs, went through the door beautifully (yeah!), then it fit into the space between the wall and the washer (double yeah!). Then DH and I spent the next hour hooking up the exhaust hose (stupid old owner drywalled everything making this extremely difficult) only to push the dryer back and find out the motherflucking power cord is too short.
Andre called Sears this morning, we're awaiting their call back. The first question out of the CSR's mouth was "well do you know anyone who could do some electrical work for you?" Why the hell would we buy a dryer only to have to hire someone to come in and move the electrical. I realize that she's probably frustrated with us, but I asked her the first trip to the store if the sizes of the washers and dryers were standard, because I was concerned about the fit, she told me yes when clearly that wasn't the case.
