Steaming floors

I bought this steamer (Shark? Deluxe Steam Mop).

And i am not sure, how is it suposed to clean the floors. I bought it because i have two dogs and they go pee on wee wee pads in our bathroom. So i tried cleaning the floor and it just started smelling really bad. I mean what is the proper way? Do i change those little floor pads?

please someone help, if it doesnt work i will have to return it.

Re: Steaming floors

  • I have one of these and I love it. ?You have to hand wash these pads, or put them in the washing machine on delicate. ?You need to wash it everytime you clean your floors. ?Also, if you use a little vinegar it will take the puppy smell out and also detours them from using the restroom off of the puppy pad. ?Good luck!
  • It sounds like the pee smell is just being brought up to the surface and that's what you're smelling. We have the same issue with cat pee in the guest room closet (from the previous owner!). You need to use some sort of pee pet enzyme stuff to get rid of the pee smell. You can try vinegar first.. that might work for dog pee.. though I'm not sure because I've only had to deal with cat pee.
