What were your side effects of going off birth control?
I've been on BC for almost 5 years now and I'm just about to start my last month before TTC. I remember the first month I was on it being horrible- I was completely miserable and crampy. I have no idea what to expect when I go off it. Did you have any side effects or did you not even notice anything?

Crankiness, tons of acne, and horrid cramps. I was miserable.
This is my firts cycle off and I did have a mild headache for a few days. I also had a ton of bloating but that may be beacuse I also started taking pnv, I dunno. I had a little acne but nothing more than what I usually get the week before or of AF. I am worried about cramping though with af. Before the pill I only recall getting back aches the first 2 days of af so hopefully it won't be any worse than that.
Oh yeah, and I was on the pill for 8 years.
I don't have any advice, but I wanted to say thanks for posting this. I am coming off starting two days ago because my current pills have made me break out in a horrible rash and horrible migraines for months now and it is nice to see what other side effects that I may encounter soon.
I was on BCP for two years and have been off for six months. The only side effec I experienced was the return of a much heavier period. I had a heavy period all my life until going on BCP so it was no surprise.
Other than than nothing I feel exactly the same.
I have been off for about 6 months, and was on it for about 10 years before. I noticed no side effects really, maybe very mild cramps that I didnt have when I was on it, but thats it. My cycles became about 3 days longer than when on the pill, but are just as regular.
Everyone is different though, many people get horrible side effects, and many people have none.
Good luck to you!

I saw in your siggy that you are going to Disney World. I love that place. It is so much fun!
My bad cramps were back, but I did start to lose the weight I gained when I was on the pill.
I was on it for 7 years, and when I came off of it I was initally bitchy. But, my gyno said that is to be expected, since your body is so used to having those hormones. I got my sex drive back, it was like coming out of a fog after many many years.
I'm also a lot more regular than what I was before I went on the pill. Weird, but true.
I didn't really have any side effects going off the pill exceptly my monthly break-outs returned. I expected worse cramps and heavier bleeding but got none. My cycles have been rather long while my body adjusts and I get headaches now as part of PMS but that's it.
I had a 2 day migraine last week and another one today...horrible! I never thought that my migraines may have been because I got off of the pill. I have been super tired also.?

I am on my 3rd cycle post BC and luckily have had 28 day cycles thus far.
As far as "side effects" of the change back to natural cycles, I have had a return of the following things (I am not surprised by any of them):
-moderate to severe cramping
-acne before period
-heavier period, but still not as heavy or horrible as before bc
-breast tenderness
I was on Yasmin for 2.5 years and actually had severe migraines that I suspected were due to the BC. My doctor denied this, but I have found online forums about Yasmin where many women suffer from migraines while on Yasmin. In any case, I have only had 1 migraine in the past months when I usually would have had many.
