Grease stain off of bread basket liner?

I put rolls in our bread basket and they got a grease stain on the liner.  I washed it and they didn't come out.  My MIL, who cross stitched it for us,  is coming for Thanksgiving dinner this week and I'd like to put the liner out.  Any suggestions on how to get the grease off?

Re: Grease stain off of bread basket liner?

  • Get the regular Dawn (Blue) Dish Washing Detergent and use it to pre-treat the stain (like Shout) and wash it like you normally would in the washing machine.  I worked at a Steak House in college and this was the ONLY thing that ever got grease out of my uniform.  Dawn takes grease out of fabric too when you use it this way.
  • Ditto the dishsoap. Dawn works great but I noticed so does anything else that's labeled with something to the affect of "With grease fighting agents."
