Book help please

I'm looking for a book that is similar to Gone Girl. I'm getting all romanced out and cant find anything I like lately. Help!

Re: Book help please

  • do you want something that twisted?

Have you read The Hunger Games, or Divergent? another great one was Ready Player One. all of these books aren't in a genre I would typically read but I loved them all.

  • Sure, I'm up for twisted, it keeps me engaged. I kind of want something unpredictable that will keep me guessing. I feel like everything I read recently is just so predictable I dont even care to finish it because I know what will happen.

I read and saw Hunger Games but not the other ones.

If you liked Hunger Games I think you would like Divergent.

I haven't read anything else like Gone Girl, but I do have Sharp Objects waiting on my shelf to be read and its also by Gillian Flynn. I've heard good things about it.

  • If you're wanting mystery I like the Rizzoli and Isle series by Tess Gerristen.  The first one is The Surgeon.

I also like The Last Child - John Hart.  It was a good audiobook, also a mystery.

The Night Circus - Eric Morganstern was good.

Looking for Alaska - John Green.  The fault in our stars by him was good too, but I call it the "ugly cry" book.  But it was really good, and there will be a movie.

Ohhh Before I fall - Lauren Oliver was good too.  (I'm going through my goodreads list)

The Winter Garden - Kristen Hannah

  • I highly recommend Before I Go To Sleep by S.J. Watson. I found it very similar to Gone Girl as far as the suspense factor, it is not romancey at all.
