Where'd You Go Bernadette? by Maria Semple -- 4 stars
Original, inventive, and a surprisingly accurate description of the prep work and experience of an Antarctic expedition cruise.

Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore by Robin Sloan -- 3 stars
An absolutely wonderful premise and start, but the story just didn't live up to the setup.

The Selection by Kiera Cass -- 4 stars
Princess Diaries meets Hunger Games.  Exactly what I wanted it to be (and what the cover promises):  A light read with lots of ball gowns.

Grace Notes by Bernard MacLaverty -- 2 stars
Beautifully written but boring.  Great observations, zero plot.

    I'm at 16 / 25 for the year.
