  • Having guests over usually triggers a clean-up...  :)

I've explained to DH that I need for our home to be a respite and a place we enjoy being.  I'm tired of walking in the front door and being overwhelmed with everything I need to do and hoping no one stops by.  For the sake of my own happiness, we gotta get this [email protected]#$ cleaned up.

  • Since you didn't make the mess all by yourself, get your DH to help you.  Don't make a big deal of having a whole cleaning fest at once, instead set a timer for 10 minutes and race each other to see who can clean the most.  I suggest working in two adjacent areas (kitchen and living room, bedroom and bathroom) unless its really messy and there is enough work and space for you both the clean the same room together.  Make sense?  My DH loves this because he knows it's only going to last 10 mins, I wont go overboard, we do it together and it's fun!  Oh and you will see results fast.  Keep doing the 10 mins as often as you can (try every day if possible) and you will definitely see improvement and cleaning will feel much more manageable!
