Rec foundation and concealer that lasts

My day begins at 3:30am, by 10am my foundation and concealer look like crap! I'm using Clinique cream foundation right now and it's not cutting it.  Thanks!

  • Have you tried adding a primer? That might help.  What is your skin like? Oily, dry, normal?

The new Urban Decay foundation (Naked Foundation) is supposed to be AMAZING. I tried it on my hand yesterday... and it's really nice. Very lightweight, but full coverage.

    Try primer.

In my experience, Clinique makeup sucks.

I use primer, Dermablend foundation (you may find a lighter weight long-lasting foundation that suits you better), and Dermablend setting powder, followed by "All Nighter" spray. Lasts very well.

  • I agree with wearing a primer underneath the foundation.  I use Bobbi Brown liquid foundation on top of primer.

  • Thanks! I just bought the Smashbox Primer!

  • What's the reason your foundation doesn't last, do you have an idea? Is it oil on your skin? Is your skin too dry for your foundation? Either way, Urban Decay makes a fantastic setting/priming spray. "All Nighter" "Dew Me" and "De Slick". All nighter is combination skin, dew me is moisturizing, and de slick is for oil. Those might help tremendously.

The best foundation I've found so far for any skin type really is Stuido Gear MATTE ($23) (make SURE you get the Matte, not the original) It's a fantastic, non comedogenic, full coverage foundation that will last you at least 14 hours. They have a "Wet to Dry" powder ($25) as well, which works amazing as a setting powder also.

  • Primer with bare minerals has been good for me. It's very light and natural looking.
