Now that 2012 is half over, what are your stats?

I've read 37 books, 9905 pages but a lot of ebooks aren't included in page count. I set a goal of 112 books, but I'm only 33% done or 18 books behind. I've decided to read much more leisurely the next few months, so I know I won't make my goal.

Re: Now that 2012 is half over, what are your stats?

  • I read 52 books last year, so I figured that was a reasonable goal for this year, too. 1 per week is doable even when I get really busy.

I'm at 33 right now, so I'm 8 books ahead of schedule. I'm hoping to get a ton in during summer because I know my fall/winter is going to be nuts with grad school and a brand new job.

I did! It's teaching middle school in my same district. It's going to be a big change for me to go from high school to middle school, but I'm looking forward to it!

Yay for middle school!  I switched to middle school reading this past school year after always teaching elementary.  I really loved the switch and am happy with my choice!  Good luck!

  • I have read 51 books towards my goal of 75 books for the year.  I have read 16,563 pages.  I will meet my goal, possibly this summer since I have a lot of books I want to read for school.  I do not plan on changing my goal at this point, just because I think I will slow down once school starts up again.

  • My goal is 50 and I am at 28 books so far.  Last year I read 60 books but thought with the job change that I made, I wouldn't know how much time I would have to read.

  • My "easy" goal was 25 and my more loftier goal was 50.  Right now I'm at 16 books and GR says I'm 4 books ahead of schedule for the 25 goal so I think I'll at least make that one.

  • I'm at 54 out of 75 for the year (22% ahead). This was the first year I ever kept track of how much I read and set a goal, so I had no idea how much I read per year. My original goal was 50! I probably won't increase the goal anymore, though, and just read whatever and whenever.
  • 41 books and 17,249 pages

My goal is 65 and I don't think I'll have any trouble beating that. I'm 9 books ahead right now.

  • 24/50. My year starts slow due to busy season, but since I started listening to Audiobooks I expect to exceed my goal. I never did this before, so I'm excited to see what I end up with.

I might look into trying your SuBC or wait to try in the Fall. I think it will really motivate me to read more.

  • 61 books and 20,195 pages.  Original goal is 100 books.  Didn't think I'd have a lot of time to read during the school year, but it looks like I'm subbing again so I may pass the goal.  It also helped that I took a YA lit class this spring!

  • My goal for this year is to read 50 books. So far I am at 37.

I can't tell you how much I love this board and the challenges. :) In 2010 I read 1,254 pages. So far in 2012 I have read 12,293 pages! I partly attribute that to buying a kindle and finishing with grad school, but NBC definitely has a lot to do with that 10x increase too!

  • My goal for the year was 80 books.  I thought that was a good goal since I read 65 last year but I'm already at 71 so I upped it to 112.  I should be able to reach it since I'm 14 books ahead of schedule according to GR.

  • My original goal 112 for this year but I'm way ahead of schedule so I increased my goal to 150.  I have 76 books so far this year.  I have read 15219 pages so far!  In 2010 I only read 2 books!  I love the NBC for my never ending to read pile.

  • According to GR, I've read 95 books and 31,531 pages. I think I have a couple more to add to the read pile, and some of the books included in the page count were audiobooks, so I don't know how accurate it is. My goal is 200 (same as last year), and I think I'm close enough to on-track that I'm pretty sure I'll make it.

  • I've read 32 books so far - 24 that were fiction and 8 that were nonfiction.  I don't have a goal, usually I just try to keep up my non-fictions with my fictions.  But I've read some pretty heavy non-fictions.  Plus I read the Time Magazine and Washington Post (Sundays) so I figure those count towards non-fictional reads.

  • I've read 81 books and 18,317 pages (audiobooks are not included in this total).  My goal for the year is 100 books, which I'm going to have to increase.  I am 32% ahead.
  • My goal for the year is 25 and I think I will actuall beat it.  I was way ahead last year, but once DS was born, I just couldn't concentrate long enough to finish anything.  I'm going to pass this year's goal, since I'm already at 15.  My page count is 7,364.

  • Ahh I've only read 41 books so far out of my goal of 100!  I'm so behind.  I attribute it to school being crazy this year and my best friend getting married!  Hopefully now that both of those things are finished I'll be able to pick up my pace (and stop reading such long books!)
