Plus I started a reread of A Wrinkle in Time last night and plan to finish tonight.

The Mama's Boy Myth by Lombardi    5 stars

I put several of your books on my list, but this suggestion is my favorite. I have been looking for a book on mother-son relationships because I've been hearing a lot of "distance yourself" crap from "experts". Thanks for posting this!

Good! The book actually could have been better, but it got 5 stars from me because of the topic and its relevance to me, and overall it was a good read. I also got a lot of that "distance yourself" ridiculousness, and never believed it!

  • These are all just for fun, I'm not doing any challenges or anything. I should have set a year goal but I never did. I've read about 70 books since I set up my Goodreads at the end of February. I finished 19 books in June, and am in the middle of 4 more.

Slave to Sensation and Visions of Heat (Psy-Changeling #1 & #2) by Nalini Singh - The first wasn't my favorite, but I liked the second much better and will continue reading the rest

All 6 Vampire Academy books by Richelle Mead - LOVED these!

The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood - This book was disturbing but it was a good read

Bloodlines and The Golden Lily (Bloodlines #1 & #2) by Richelle Mead - LOVED these as well! Especially the second book. Cannot wait for the other books to come out

Unearthly and Hallowed (Unearthly #1 & #2) by Cynthia Hand - These were pretty good, looking forward to the third book

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter by Seth Grahame-Smith - I was not expecting to like this, I just read it because my friends were making me go to the movie, but I really liked it! (The movie, however, was awful)

Halfway to the Grave and One Foot in the Grave (Night Huntress #1 & #2) by Jeaniene Frost - LOVED these! I'm currently reading the third book

Kiss of Midnight, Kiss of Crimson, and Midnight Awakening (Midnight Breed #1, #2, & #3) by Lara Adrian - I'm enjoying these, I started them because I love BDB so much and heard they were similar. They aren't quite as good as the BDB books, but I still like them a lot

Books I've started but haven't finished yet:

Rapture (Fallen #4) by Lauren Kate - having a really hard time getting into this one, especially since I've heard on here that it isn't that great. I just want to finish it to finish up the series

We Need to Talk About Kevin by Lionel Shriver - I have about 100 pages left. It started out a little slow but now I am finding it very interesting

At Grave's End (Night Huntress #3) by Jeaniene Frost - I'm only on chapter 12 but so far I'm not liking this one as much as I liked the first two. Hoping it picks up soon!

Dead Until Dark (Sookie Stackhouse #1) by Charlaine Harris - I'm about 1/3 of the way done, but I cannot get into it. I think because I just had a massive True Blood marathon to watch all the shows before the new season. I might hold off on this one until the show is over for the season
