How are you feeling?  Was the surgery a success?

Re: aStorie

  • I'm doing a lot better now, thank you for asking :)
Surgery was good but a lot longer than they thought it was going to be (was suppose to take an hour-hour and a half and it ended up being over 4 hours). They found cysts everywhere, on my bladder, kidney, etc and a lot of scar tissue. Looks like I have Endometriosis but waiting for some lab tests to come back. I ended up having my left ovary and tube removed :( so we may be moving onto IVF after we get the go ahead to start trying again.

Dx with PCOS / started on Metformin - 6/2011

HSG Result - Left tube blocked

Cycle #1-4 - Progesterone Shot to jump start, No ovulation = BFN

Cycle #5 - Came on its own, Letrozole CD 5-9, HCG Trigger shot 2/13, Confirmed O = BFN

Cycle #6 - Came on its own, no medication due to cysts = BFN

Cycle #7 - Came on its own, Laparoscopy Surgery - 4/23, left tube & ovary removed

Cycle #8 - Took 2 months off, on BC to keep cysts away

    Cycle #9 - Letrozole CD3-7, HCG Trigger Shot 7/14, IUI#1 7/16 = BFN

    Cycle #10 - Letrozole CD3-7, HCG Trigger shot 8/11, IUI#2 8/13 = BFP!!! Beta #1: 56 Beta #2: 318 Beta #3: 5,458

  • I'm glad you're feeling better.  Sorry about the discovery of the cysts, but sometimes it is better to have an answer.  Did they do removal of the suspected endo tissue?  Or did they do ablations (essentially cauterizing in the hopes it won't grow back there)?

  • Glad to hear you're feeling okay! Sorry that the outcome wasn't as good as you'd hoped.
  • I believe they removed the endo tissue, I'm not 100% sure. I only got to talk to the doctor the next day for a couple of minutes and Ryan can't remember b/c he was a little bit of a mess that day with all of the info they were throwing at him lol I go in for my follow up next Wed so I should find out more info then.

    Thanks Ames :)

  • Glad you are doing well. Hope everything comes back in your favor. None of that stuff is fun, but at least you have some answers!
  • Glad you're doing  realitively well and got some answers!  Wishing you a healthly recovery and good direction from your docs now that they have some answers to help develop a plan.
