Re: Chevy equinox

  • I have a 2007 and I <3 mine.  It is getting a bit snug for us now with two car seats and a double stroller in the back but we still love it.

It is a smooth ride and the height of an SUV (which I wanted for safety reasons) but the length and gas mileage of most cars.  Plus, the safety ratings and features themselves are great.

  • we had one as a rental in FL back in December.  It was smaller than i thought it would be.  Drove and looked nice though

  • To piggy back off of what chrisnjay said, if you are planning on expanding your family in the near future, I would go with the traverse instead.  I love my equinox but like I said, it is getting snug.

After we get our house this spring, I will be trading in for the traverse.  It is the same car, just one more row and more trunk space.  Even if we don't put anyone in the third row, the space alone is really needed.

  • I with we could afford the traverse! I figure this might work for now since I'm not planning on having another baby for a few years

I know, it is so damn pricey!!  That is why we are waiting, so the loan is not against us when we go buy a house.  Anyways, if you are a one baby fam for a while, the equinox is a great crossover : )

  • IMO I didn't like the size of the Traverse 3rd was pointless for other then kids. Which is why I went with Pilot.  But look at used vehicles my at was under 25 with extended warantees.

  • We are seriously thinking about getting one to replace DH's car, but haven't tested it out yet b/c we have to wait until he gets his bonus paid out in April.  Let me know what you think about it, though!

  • We had an equinox, and I personally thought it saved my life!  I got into a very bad accident with it:  Hit a lamp pole-light fell(yes on the car, did at least 2 360's and landed in a ditch-and besides my neck being screwed up from whiplash I walked away w/o a scratch! -If I remember correctly its built so it has a "cage-like" feature which I believed helped me stay safe
