Slime in the water compartment of our Keurig:

I was going to come here and ask what you could suggest!  There is 1 spot on the bottom of the water compartment that is yellow.  I can't get it out.  It's a small space inbetween the wall and the plastic house housing.

Well, I am steam cleaning the couch and DH steam cleaned the water compartment and it worked!  yay!!

Re: Slime in the water compartment of our Keurig:

  • Wow.  Glad that worked - that sounds icky  lol

Do you run vinegar through the system periodically the way the manufacturer suggests?  I started to and have noticed an improvement in the machine and I've never seen anything like that in the reservoir.

How often do you do this? As with all things- my DH never reads directions and i don't even know where they are... We just got ours about a month ago - i want to make sure we keep it working well! thanks!

I used to be Goldie_locks_5 but the new nest is so screwed up that I was forced to start over.

  • I'm pretty sure it's just minerals from our water (we have hard water and it stains everything in the house).  Water stays in the water compartment all the time.

But, I couldn't scrub it off this one spot.

  • you should be using bottled water if you have hard water from the tap.  it will ruin your K-Cup machine.
