gift for house cleaners?

This is the first year we'll do a holiday with our house cleaners.  they come very 2 weeks and I'm at a loss for what to do for them.  We want to give them something, because they clean up our messes well but i don't want to over give becuase it's not like we have a money tree but i don't want to undergive either.

so what do you tip your cleaning staff?  one full cleaning?  that would be $90.  they are an older husband wife couple.  gift card?  we barely know their names, let alone what they may be into or not into.

After 2 years of IF, and moving forward with adoption we were thrilled to discover we were pregnant with no intervention in 2009. Miss Molly joined our family in February 2010 and we could not be more in love with our little angel. Lilypie Second Birthday tickers blog www.grumpysnickles.com

Re: gift for house cleaners?

  • We typically give them the cost of one cleaning.  We also have ours come weekly so we will give her Christmas week off with pay, but we have been using her for almost 8 years now!
  • We also typically give the amount of one cleaning in cash.  You can always give less, either in cash or something universal like a Target or Wal-Mart GC.  I am giving an ornament with it (Hobby Lobby had them 50% off) so it looks pretty.  Last year I gave a treat bag of Christmas Crunch that I'd made with it.

This.  It's our 5th holiday season with them, so I might actually give them a little more...
