Anyone have a Target Redcard Debit?

Since I don't need another credit card but spend a lot of money there and would like to take advantage of an extra 5% discount, I'm curious about the debit card.  Anyone have one?  Is it pretty simple and seamless or a waste of time?

Re: Anyone have a Target Redcard Debit?

  • I think you just need a blank check if I remember right. It was pretty simple. DH signed up and then once we got the card we went to the website got a card for myself too. We are seriously in Target 3 or 4 times a week sometimes so it saves us a lot of money. It's so worth it. You get pharmacy rewards too and you can pick a school for them to donate to. You can use it for any of the other services in the store too....optical, Starbucks, we have a Coldstone in our's, etc.

I can save 5% at Starbucks at Target, too?  I'm in heaven!

  • I have one, and I should've gotten it a long time ago. I'm at SuperTarget at least once a week, usually more.

It's like allllllmost shopping tax-free. It definitely adds up, and it's really nice to see that extra savings.

The other great thing is that if you use their pharmacy and pay for stuff with the card, after every five prescriptions they send you a thing for an extra 5% off one day of shopping -- so you can use your Redcard with that, too, and get one day of 10% off. I have one of those that I haven't decided when to use. :)

  • Super easy, you can get one at checkout. They use your blank check and then give it back to you I think, if I remember it right. From then on, it's 5% on everything in the store. I use it to buy groceries there and Starbucks, snackbar, etc. It's even an additional 5% on sale, clearance, ipads...whatever.

  • OK, now I'm convinced I NEED one of these.  But, what if I already have a Target Visa card, can I switch it over?

  • Love mine.  I got it earlier this month and it's been great.  I just went in to customer service and told them I wanted one and it took about 5 minutes and they printed out a temporary code that I could use until my regular one came in the mail.  So you can start using it right away, which is nice.

You can have both, no need to cancel the visa unless you really want to.
