Tax Returns..

I know a little early, but was curious if you get your tax information back early in the season?  My husband just deployed and I'm thinking of moving closer to family while he's gone, and am wondering how soon I can do my taxes!

Re: Tax Returns..

  • If I recall from last year, they were available online mid January. I didn't get mine until the very last possible moment legally allowed.
I've seen a lot of military surprise homecomings. It wouldn't work on me. I always have my back to the corner and my face to the door. Looking for terrorists, criminals, various other threats, and husbands.
  • They usually come out in early to mid Jan.

Before you decide to go home for the entire time, may I suggest you visit for a couple of weeks.  For me, being in our house with his stuff makes things so much easier to deal with.  Plus, being at my mom's house for more than 2 days makes me want to take a long walk off a short pier.

Ditto.  I love my family like crazy, but that's not my "home" anymore.  H deployed less than 2 months after we moved across the country and I hadn't met anyone yet because the ship was already gone.  I'm so glad I didn't move home because I made a life for myself here, and am not just dependent on my H.

But yeah, mid to late January it will be out.  We always get our taxes filed by like the second week of February.
