where can I get real acorns?

I want to make this acorn wreath, but the only problem is that I live in an area where there are no acorns!  (at least I think there aren't any)..

Where can I buy real acorns so I can make this wreath?

  • I'm not sure where you can get real ones, but I've absolutely seen fake ones out there. I think at Meijer?

  • I'd invite you to my yard, but you might have to fight the squirrels for them.

Seriously, ask around your friends and coworkers.  I'm sure someone has a large oak tree and will let you come pick acorns.

Unless you live out west.  Apparently you don't have many oaks out there.  So maybe call your friends on the east coast and see if they will mail you some?  Except maybe if you live in CA, because I know you have really strict rules for importing fruits and I'm not sure if acorns would count.

These are a few of my favorite things

  • Could you go to a park. If I still lived in our old house, I could mail you about 20 pounds. We had huge oak trees in our yard and we had so many acorns. It was the bain of my existance.
  • Have you thought about doing this with some other nut that is available locally?  Pecans?
