I need to seriously lose weight, like badly. I just have zero motivation to do it. L tells me he loves the way I look so its really easy to be happy where I am I guess. And I also love food :| no doubt about that. I can't give up my wings and hot cheetos, no way. I haven't been drinking sodas, and I stay away from the Devil's Water and I walk almost everywhere on campus. I have a stationary bike in my office and L has a weight set in the back room but I don't know..I'm happy sitting on the couch :(. I need to lose about 70 pounds and I think that's also scaring me...

My suggestion (from personal experience, and not from any sort of professional point of view) is to break it down into something smaller, like a pound or two a week, or five pounds a month.  Try not to think of the total, I find it to be more discouraging that way.

Yes, I understand it's a message board and it's not an open party for everyone to just include themselves, but some things could be handled privately if you don't intend to cause jealousy or tension.

This is how I feel every single time people bring up "secret" BNOTB groups. I don't see the point of bringing it up except to make other people feel left out.

I just want to say that I'm cool w/all the newbs. I don't have an issue with you all and if I did I would be an adult and adress with you.

    Hugs to all.

I realize now that I should have used the term fucktards instead of newbs.

I was just talking about losing weight with one of my friends today. We have a friend who had gastric bypass and is flaunting her weight loss on FB. She gave me a bag of clothes and they actually fit me. I was really disgusted and I know I'm not as big as she was but it still ticked me off. I had to buy a new summer wardrobe because nothing fit. I think after my vacation I am going to be serious about at least working out. I have no excuse.

I am going to try that..Thanks. I just need to get off my lazy ass and do something. 70 pounds less than what I am would be my high school weight..I'm nervous because I have huge hips

I guess it's just that we would all love to hang out with you, and some that you may have already even met and got along with, sometimes feel excluded on purpose when stuff gets planned without them even being considered.   I'm really trying to be more of a "devils advocate" because I know there are lots of girls who wish they could hang out with you, and I know I'm one of them... so to express interest and then get ingnored, it can feel a bit intentional.

The only people I've really met were from the large GTG in Chicago before most people's time. So, unless Liz is feeling left out, then I'm at a loss. Which also means, nothing was intentional if someone felt left out. But, you also have to understand (which I know you do, I think we all do) that it is really hard going about posting worrying about other people's feelings on everything.

If that was the case, Ala would have been run off with a pitch fork. She posts what's on her mind, and even though she's gotten good at her wording, her truth is always there.

And at the chance this happens to be about Knavy, her and I made plans for September.

And I am also happy that you and I can handle this properly.:)

I would be quite pissed if a friend handed me a bag of old clothes.

I was sitting next to my BFF today on campus and I envy her. She's so tiny and petite. She's so pretty too :( its like I'm the ugly fat friend

  • I am  worried I won't be able to lose the weight I need to lose.

I know I've done it before - but I just don't feel the motivation today.

  • Oh, and another confession. I find that I often don't post things because I'm afraid the grammar police are going to jump all over me. I understand that grammar is important but I think you should be able to relax when you're talking to friends.

  • Since we're getting everything out, and Erin got what she needed to off her chest (rockstar!), I'd like to say that I think it's great that you guys are friends, and I think it's great you can get together every once in awhile.  But I will be the first to admit that I'm one of the petty, jealous girls.  Not because you guys live closer to one another, or get together, but because of the term QOA.  It just makes me feel like I'm back in high school and you're the popular girls and it's somehow implied that the rest of us are beneath you or just not in any way your friends.

Yeah, I know, it's not intentional.  And, yeah, I know, this is my problem and not yours.  I just wanted to throw that out there since everything got all honest today.

  • I will also point out, and then I am dropping it, that Ang, GLW, Apples and myself have been on this board for like 4 years. Couple that with living relative close together, yes, we have made close friends with each other. And I'm sorry if the QOA acronym offends. It doesn't mean anyone is less awesome.

Ang, GLW, Apples and myself were making plans to meet up. Ang (Or apples) coined the phrase QOA (Quad of awesomeness)  So whenever we need to page the whole group it's easier than typing everyone's name. Like MH=my husband, etc....

I still think a good 95% of the ladies could do better than their current husbands.

    ---

And I really wasn't trying to single out the QOA - I know similar things have happened with/to other little GTGs.

Hmmm I don't know if I would go as high as 95% but it is definitely up there.

And hey - I like this board b/c when things do need to be said, they are and we don't get all whiney and butthurt over it.... well, not all the time. ;)

I think Ala zeroes me out and picks on me more often than anyone else. I feel like you (Ala) haven't liked me from the beginning, and for the life of me I can't figure out why.

Also, I the term "snarky" is basically just a nice way of saying "b!tcy" and that people use the term incorrectly.

I think snarky involves some wit, but bitchy doesn't necessarily.

I thought this at first too (based on context clues), but the more I saw the term the more I correlated it  with b!tchy, so I looked it up:

    snark?y

      [snahr-kee] image Show IPA
    adjective, snark?i?er, snark?i?est. Chiefly British Slang .

    testy or irritable; short.

I agree. I think snarky is a step above straight up bitchy.

It is because you consistently do/say stupid shiit. I think I'm pretty fair about my reaction to stupid shiit regardless of who does/says it.

Also - I guarantee I'm not singling you out, since I haven't a clue who you are.

  • I confess that I just slept with the high school quarterback, skipped out on my math test to smoke weed in the parking lot with the stoners, flirted with the drama teacher to get a lead role, and invited a bunch of people to a rager at my house because my parents are out of town.

Wait- that was back in high school.....

  • Wow!  I missed a lot today.  Glad everything got worked out or so it seems.

Here's my confession and it has nothing to do with anything else posted but *warning...a little TMI*:  I think I have a cyst on my butt.  It's like, at the top of my crack.  It hurts when I sit sometimes and I keep procrastinating on making a dermatologist appointment.  It's embarrassing but kind of makes me laugh also.
