Woudl you see GP or Derm for this? Also rec your dermatologist

I have a mole on my back that is flat but it has spread out and irregular shaped and bumpy now- I want to get it checked out, do I call my GP or a dermatologist?

  • Yep, derm.  I saw Ferguson with Physician's Clinic in Regency; he seemed like he knew his stuff.
  • Definitely derm.  Based on a nestie recommendation I'm going to see Dr. Jill Nelson with Dermatology Specialists of Omaha in a couple of weeks - I had been seeing Dr. Pappenfuss but wasn't very satisfied with a few things (his office staff leaves something to be desired, for one thing).

  • Thanks ladies. Do I need a rec from GP you think or can I just call?

I also want to get some other moles removed if I'm already going in.

  • You can definitely just call - I guess the only question is whether your insurance requires a referral to a "specialist" i.e. the dermatologist.  Mine does not, but that means nothing to you....lol.
