Lily loves her ride-on toy/walker. We bought it a while ago, but just now (at 11mos) she is starting to love it more.
We have this one: http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=4010472&CAWELAID=548718144

Merrick likes to put things inside each other so I recommend some stacking toys or nesting toys.
And he LOVES his laugh house.

My niece was here all weekend. She is 13 months. She loved anything she could carry around with her that made noise. Cell phone, maracas, blocks with shakers inside.
My mom got an older version of this at a garage sale and she loves it as well. http://www.amazon.com/Fisher-Price-Bright-Beginnings-Activity-Walker/dp/B000L53D4O/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&qid=1312127586&sr=8-12
