Hip discomfort

Ive been having this the past few days. Its after sleeping on my left side. Anyone know what this is?

  • It is just one of the joys of pregnancy. Sleep with a pillow between your knees. I used to wake up every 1-2 hours due to hip pain. Just roll over onto the other side for a while.

  • My hips have been bothering me lately, too.  I've found that spending an occasional night in our guest bed (softer mattress) helps a bit.  Also, when I'm laying on my side I sometimes angle my hips/body so I'm very slightly leaning back or forward (depending on which side I'm on) against a body pillow.  I'm still on my side, but it helps my hips not be right on top of each other.  This helps a little, though my hips are still sore.

  • Just another fun side effect of pregnancy! I'm dealing with it too - waking up every 2-3 hours at night to change positions and rearrange my pillows.

  • I highly recommend a body pillow if you are not already using one. I still get hip pain once in awhile, but it is so much better since getting the body pillow. Just using extra pillows did not really work for me.
