Cardiac Rehab

I just graduated from Western Illinois University in exercise science my ultimate goal is to get into cardiac rehab. I am going to be starting an internship possibly next week, because they are reviewing some kind of insurance issue. But I was wondering if anyone knew of any place I could get in contact with in the New Jersey or New York area, specifically around or near Staten Island (going to be moving there to be with FH).

 Thanks I appreciate it!

Re: Cardiac Rehab

  • I'm originally from SI, and there are two huge hospitals there, one with (I believe) a very large "heart institute" (which includes, I believe, cardiac rehab). Why don't you ask FH if he has any friends or family members that work at Staten Island University Hosptial and see if they can set you up to have lunch or coffee with someone in that  unit. Staten Island is a very friendly place and if you're willing to go out on a limb and chat with some nurses or doctors or rehab specialists they may try to help you get in at the hospital. I'm not really familiar with any private offices, so I can't help you there, but just as a FYI that place is HUGE and I always hear of aunts and uncles getting their nieces or nephews in at least for an internship.
  • Thats awesome, thanks for the in site, once I move I will have to check the place out. Right now I am currently going to be starting and internship where I live. But I will start looking for jobs as it comes closer to moving. That information really helped!

     Thanks =D
