AW Your husbands/SO

Sorry but enough baby talk. Anything great your husbands/so has done lately?

Re: AW Your husbands/SO

  • DH was officially promoted last week.  He is now an Associate Director.  I am beyond proud of him.

He has also been working hard to train for the Tough Mudder in 2 weeks.

  • DH is doing the bone marrow drive in Miami now so I'm glad they are continuing to do this and am proud he always does a good job on getting this together for a good cause.
  • My husband washes my daughter's hair. If you've seen her, you might know this is a task. I hold her over the sink and he wets, scrubs, rinses, dries, and combs.  It's so cute.

Also, on a non baby related item, he was picked as a "Super Lawyer" in Philly magazine for the 2nd year in a row.

  • DH got his professional engineer (PE) license last year. His company has been diicking him around about the raise he was supposed to get as a result -- largely because they can now bill more for him an hour. He's done a great job of sticking up for himself in a very professional manner, and his raise finally came through today!

Also, this is a weird thing to AW, but I thought it was cute -- he was at a bachelor party in NYC a week or two ago, and he called me semi-drunk around 2am to tell me that he couldn't wait to have kids with me. Apparently he had been talking to one of his friends who has a newborn, and it got him excited. I thought it was oddly sweet, even though he woke me up :)

ETA: Sorry Kernal, I know you're sick of the baby talk Embarrassed

  • this is going to sound dumb but the other day i went to put my laundry away and DH already matched up all my socks... it is my least favorite chore by far and it made me SOOO happy to  not have to do it.  He's also been making my lunch every day because I've been so tired and stressed by the time I get home.

Oh I hate matching socks!! I would love that too.

  • DH has been going crazy over raising money for his younger sister for tomorrow night's beef and beer. He has been collecting donations like crazy and we've sold almost 260 tickets mostly because of him. It's cute seeing him getting really involved like this because stuff like this isn't really his thing.

Also, while this whole basement finishing project is making me insane, I'm so surprised at all the work DH has done. He's done everything from jack hammering the concrete floor out, installing all plumbing, framing out all the walls, rough wiring all the electrical, installed the entire bathroom, put up all the drywall and is now currently installing all recessed lights. I can't imagine how much $ he is saving us doing all this himself and I have no idea where he learned to do all this stuff. I'm so thankful he's really handy.

  • Yay..good stuff!

I don't really have anything other than he's been a good listener after this week from hell. And he let me drink Fri and Sat while driving my @ss around.

  • DH got a job at Sony Imageworks.  He's worked 70+ hours a week since we moved to CA and has barely complained about it.  Its so wonderful to finally see him doing something that he loves.

Also, he took one look at my To-Do list for the weekend and told me he'd take care of it all.  I know that he probably won't and will sleep most of the weekend, but not a single complaint about a list of chores is pretty darn AW-able.

  • DH is kind of a super dad. He works the night shift and watches the kids all day, yet still manages to not be grumpy. He has also been really supportive and helpful with my random evening sickness.

He teaches a semi-pro (I think anyways?) woman football league called the Liberty Belles and has his first game this weekend. I'm taking al lthe kiddies to see the game and help support him!

That is so cool that dh coaches the Liberty Belles.  I thought about trying out for them at one point.  I'll have to come to a game.

  • DH is a super awesome dad.  I think he's a better parent than me, no question.  He has the nurturing and playing thing down.  I'm still working on it.  Em is really lucky.

They play their home games at Northeast Highschool (off of Cottman ave). !

  • DH has been getting up in the morning, feeding the dogs, then bringing Aisling to me to feed her in bed- it really makes a world of difference that I get to linger in bed those extra few minutes.

Also, he hasn't yet called me out on being the crazy person I know I am right now with our fundraiser in two days...I've been absolutely neurotic, and it's nice that he's been so patient (at least so far...)

  • My DH has been pretty awesome lately.  He went back to dieting with me and working out.  I've been feeling a little down recently (mostly work-related) and he's been my rock. Every day he'll check in with me to see how I'm doing and how my day is going.  It's really sweet and comforting since I have been just miserable nelly lately.

He also won another performance-based award at work and got recognized at a regional meeting for it.

  • DH is being promoted to Director.

He will be getting a pay raise (finally) and he got a big fat bonus (finally) last week.

He has also improved overall in the last few months with regard to helping out around the house.

  • hahah, Kernal, I think I just developed a girl crush on you ;)

I am very independant especially when it comes to my finances.  I prefer to prove that I can pay half of everything we have even though I am far more in debt then he is (thank you Arcadia University).

This month has been the month from hell and I have been smacked in the face with unexpected tax and medical bills.  He has insisted that he help me out with these, even though I flat out refused at first.

I know it's not a big promotion or super dad or anything like that, but it means a lot to me.  It's one of the few times in my life that I've felt like someone has really been there for me when I needed them and assured me I don't have to go through this alone.

This will no doubt be us. May or may not play in to why we don't have any yet ha.

My aunt was the QB for them many many years ago!  They won a national championship when she was on the team.  Haha, so random.

  • Mr erbur is a big softie. He is the primary house cleaner; does the laundry and even hangs up my clothes that don't go in the dryer.  He runs with me all.the.time. He makes me feel good about being me. He's a good listener, esp with some recent family drama; he lets me cry on his shoulder and then doesn't let me dwell in it. He leaves me "musical messages" on my work voice mail (he plays a song that is important to us).  He usually finishes the last few yards of any race along my side.  He has an ability to quell my fears and reminds me that it is important to stop and smell the roses. He loves beer. He loves me.
  • DH is not much of a kid person, but a huge baseball fan so when he voluneteered to help out with DS's baseball practice I was wasnt really shocked. After 2 hours of throwing non-stop high pops to a group of 8-9 year olds without a single complaint did however shock me. Listening to him encourage those boys and compliment how well they were doing was absolutely adorable.

When I say hes not a kid person, its not him being mean or flat out not liking kids, he only like kids that are close to us. Like DS and our 2 neices. Other than that he prefers not to interact with other peoples kids. I think its because he dosent know how to deal with them.
