Shin splints...

...I has them.  Or at least, I think I do, if what the info I found on runnersworld.com is any indication.  I'm waiting for my personal athletic trainer (aka my little sister) to text me back so I can pick her brain a bit but for now I'm icing my shins.  Because shin splints or no, I had to call it quits a mile into a three mile easy run because my shin hurt so much and that's never good.

Re: Shin splints...

  • I got them this weekend for the first time, from walking 15 km in very old walking shoes. In my hiking boots I never have a problem but I didn't want to hassel with them through customs. Lesson learnt, it's worth the hassel!
The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page.
  • I know nothing about shin splints, but I hope the healing time isn't to long!
  • I have a feeling that doing a hilly 8 miles in old shoes on Saturday (grabbed the wrong shoes by mistake) is probably the culprit.  So lots of rest, stretching, and making sure I have the right shoes for me :$
