hard wood floors

I just moved into my new house and the steps took a little bit of a beating with moving in and workers in the house. There are alot of black scuffs, some white scratches and it just doesnt look as shiny as the rest of the house. Any ideas on how to get the steps sparkling again.

Re: hard wood floors

  • Have you tried a magic eraser on the scuff and scratches?  We've done that on our laminate flooring and its worked great.  Don't scrub too hard w/ it, though.  We also use Murphy's oil soap when we clean the hardwood floors.  I've been doing this since I was a kid and it doesn't leave a film, smells great, and cleans very well.  I mix a capful or more w/ warm water (cleans the dirt up better imo).  HTH!
