We booked our anniversary trip! (and I need help)

So DH and I hemmed and hawed over it for a long time, but we finally decided and booked our trip. We are going to Baltimore, MD, which is about a 3 drive for us. It's not San Fran like we wanted but this is much more affordable.

We booked a room on the Inner Harbor with a water view and it was our big splurge. We are going to the National Aquarium, which I've never seen and DH hasn't been to in 20 years and plan on walking around the harbor. The piece de resistance of our whole trip: Cirque du Soleil! :::happy dance::: We're super excited.

The only thing we're not sure about is where to eat. I know you have some ideas Stacy! And anyone else who has been there, please help me out. We're trying to find cheaper places (the only places we can find online are expensive restaurants) and within walking distance to the harbor. And we're of course looking for some good seafood. I can hear a good crab cake sandwich calling my name already.

  • A really yummy place to eat is Blue Moon Cafe.  It was on Diners Drive-ins and Dives.  Soooo good.  DH and I drove down there one time just for bfast (what they are famous for).  Get the captain crunch french toast, or the huevos rancheros, or the crab eggs benedict!  We got all three.  (splitting the french toast...glad we did this because it was so sweet I only could eat a couple bites).

     Sounds like a fun trip!

Oh, thanks! That's only 8 blocks from our hotel. And as soon as I mention that French toast I'm sure DH will be all over that. He loves French toast and eats kid's cereal for breakfast every morning. And of course we both love Triple D.

  • cool!!  Another place (not sure of location) that we saw on triple D was chap's pit beef.  If you go online the prices aren't bad at all.  :)

If you can get a cab over to Fells Point. You really should.  It's a really trendy area.  Not sure what great places are there to eat. But they have some fun shops and bars that we've seen!  :)

Well it looks like Blue Moon Cafe is in Fells Point and that's walking distance. Maybe we'll just wander around there a little bit and see what we can find. Hopefully it really is that close because that would be so easy.

  • Oooh! Sounds fun!  I'm so jealous about the National Aquarium!  How neat!  I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time at Cirque!  I hear it's spectacular!

  • We ate at a really good Italian place in "little Italy" or whatever that neighborhood is called. It was great...I wish I could remember what it was called....Anyway we had a great time there it was our first trip as a couple so it was exciting for us :)
  • It's not the cheapest but I imagine there are more expensive out there- the Rusty Scupper is a place my family has been to several times and from what I remember its awesome! I'll hit my dad up for some other ideas since he's been there more than I. Yay for anniversary trip though!!
