Hunger Games discussion

Re: Hunger Games discussion

  • I made a map for you:

  • I'm not sure I understand the map.  A Capitol, at least historically, is not liking to be land-locked or surround itself with enemies.
  • Keep in mind the train they took to the Capitol made stops in other districts. Plus, 13 and 12 were definitely farther away than others. That's why there was less government intervention early in the book.

It also makes sense that the Capitol would treat its immediate border districts better than the others, which leads me to believe it was only directly touching 1 and 2.

  • She said in the first book that 12 was Appalachia. 13 was 45minutes away by plane, so probably DC area or NY or something?

  • There are a TON of maps. Just GIS "Panem map" and a shitton come up. I want an official one, dammit!
I bet her FUPA's name is Shane, like the gunslinger/drifter of literature.--HappyTummy
  • The Capitol was in the Rockies, that was specifically stated.

I assumed that 13 was around the DC area since it specifically alluded to basically being a bunker for important people pre-Panem.

  • This was it?

    Kind of a boner killer.

  • 4:30 EST kills all threads.

  • Think of more stuff to talk about and we can revisit tomorrow. I'll think too.

  • I'm in a stupid meeting all day tomorrow :(
