I just need to vent for a minute. I was on BCP for the last year and a half, but had to go off of it recently for medical reasons. I payed a $20 copay every month for my BCP, and it was no big deal. Well, now that I have to switch BC methods, I was looking into my other options. Turns out our health insurance doesn't cover any BC options! The only reason it covered the BCP is because it was a perscription! I am so angry right now, and have no idea what we're going to do. I don't have that kind of cash on hand, and our budget is tight, and getting tighter (due to H's job being in jeopardy possibly) so we can't afford the monthly payments for the options the nice lady at the doctor's office offered.
End of rant.
Re: Health Insurance Vent Re: Birth Control...
We switched insurance companies in February (DH's job switched I should say), and when they did that they automatically switched me to the generic, and I had an allergic reaction to it.
Thanks for the advice about Planned Parenthood. I used a service similar to that when I was in college, but someone told me that if you have healthcare coverage available, you don't qualify. I might be totally wrong. I'll have to look into it more.

This is exactly what mine does, too!
I think it's a load of bullshit!
/facepalm
Why don't insurance companies see how much cheaper it is to pay for birth control pills/methods than it is to pay for a) a child's delivery and b) the healthcare for that child FOR THE REST OF THEIR LIFE. Why don't they use common sense? I can't believe Viagra is covered and bcp isn't. Rediculous.
