Just for fun: baby names

We're not TTC for another year, but I LOVE baby name talk!

We have like a million girl names and I keep coming up with more. My current faves: Veda and Rozlyn (Roz for short) -- Veda will most likely be our top girl pick.

We still really love the name Jude for a boy but it's becoming really popular, nand I don't want my child to have a popular name. Cam you gals help me come up with boy names that aren't popular and don't sound weird?

  • What about Milo? Is that dorky?

I also like Hugo, but DH hates it. It was my great great grandfather's name.

  • I like the names Henry and Oliver.  DH likes Liam. So far that's the only boy name he has contributed to the list of future offspring names. I'm waiting for him to suggest something like Optimus Prime.

LOL! Jake really like the name Ajax and he thinks it should be a top contender. I added it to our list just to please him.

  • I could get out my list of student suggestions. I remember Godzilla and Octavious being on the boys list. Have you checked out Nameberry.com? The have a list of unusual names you could look through.
  • Isn't Ajax some sort of cleanser?

My husband tried to strike a bargain with me that I could name all of our girls if he could name all of our sons. I told him we'd end up with sons named Toenail Johnson and Itchy Balls if I agreed to something like that.

  • Oh, and I googled "old fashioned baby names" the other day and Leonidas popped up. Talk about OLD fashioned.

  • I LOVE LOVE LOVE the name Henry, and I also like Leo.  DH doesn't like either.

Our top contender for a boy is well-known but I hope not getting too popular.  Its fairly old-fashioned.

I like Milo.  It's not dorky to me, but I'm kind of dorky.  Haha.  So dorky that I like the name Miley also...even though I think that's a bit more popular than I want to believe.

More unusual(ish) boy names that I like:
    Oscar
    Oliver
    Gunner
    Carson
    Camden

I don't know if any of those are your style, but that's my contribution.  :)

  • We can't agree on names, so I joke that's why we can't have kids right now. I like the name Olivia but won't use it because the ending sound is the same as our last name. Here is a cool website: http://nymbler.com/  it suggests names based off of what you tell it that you like.

That sight is cool! But, it suggested the name Elmo to me! LOL!

  • I like Milo, but it reminds me or Milo & Otis . . . that movie about the dog and cat . . .

I'm thinking Ajax is a type of cleaner too. For your bathroom? Right? Might as well add Brillo to the list too. J/K

I'm in love with the names Bennett (Ben for short) and Lincoln for boys. Still like Lydia or Layla for girls.

Milo is actually on the top of our list for another boy.  Milo William Miller. DH like Easton too. :)

  • Milo- I like Miles... kinda similar

I also like Zachary, Nathan, Oliver, Spencer, Henry, Alexander, Owen, Cameron, Declan, and Ryan.

  • I love Nathaniel and Levi (I know, jeans, but I still love it). Sadly DH vetoed both options for us.
  • I like Milo & Miles (I know a little Miles, nicknamed "Milo"- so cute).  I also like Levi & Anderson (nn "Anders") for more original names.  And a little boy I used to babysit for was named Daegan, which I always thought was a cute name.
  • Jennrs - I can see you with a little baby Oliver :)

When I put "Jude" into a name site these "people who liked Jude also liked..." suggestions came up:

    Felix, Sebastian, Rafferty, Ezra, Rufus

  • All of my co-workers have children with pretty uncommon names.

Boy names: Orson, Bruno, Beau, Caelum

Girl names: Ava, Thea, Poppy, Rowan, Monika (not a weird name, just a different spelling)

I love Camden, and Lincoln is at the top of our list for boys (we love the nickname Link).

I had 2 friends name their kids that last year so maybe it's becoming more popular?  We seem to have similar taste (yay for Veda!) so here's our boy short list:

Leonardo (Leo for short), Joaquim, Kiran, Darshan

1st to are Portuguese (me) & the last 2 are Indian (DH).

Some other uncommon names I like: Job (but I worry about people not pronouncing it right), Arun (Indian), Ruben, Raphael.
