I need your expert opinion.  One of our cats has a swollen bottom lip.  She's had it happen a few times in the past and it's always gone away in about a day.  She's had it since at least Wednesday.  I was back home and Dan was on a work trip, so it may have started earlier and we don't know.  It's definitely less red than it was and maybe a tiny bit less swollen.  Do you think I need to take her to the vet?

Re: *Pakarufus*

  • It sounds like either feline acne or an indolent ulcer.  As long as it isn't bleeding you can wait to see if it resolves.  If you are using plastic bowls change to metal or ceramic.  Some cats can develop a sensitivity to the plastic that can make either condition worse.  If it is bleeding or looks raw she should see the vet. Hope this helps!
