No MC Ball For Me :(

Dress #3 was a fail, and I'm out of time. No fun.

Re: No MC Ball For Me :(

  • Oh no! Bummer. MSG B-Days are so much fun. No chance of borrowing one? Or wearing something traditionally Egyptian or something?
I've seen a lot of military surprise homecomings. It wouldn't work on me. I always have my back to the corner and my face to the door. Looking for terrorists, criminals, various other threats, and husbands.

I don't know about borrowing one. I could ask around at H's softball game tomorrow night. Most of the problem is that we're going to Istanbul for most of the days between now and then, so I don't have time to try and find something here.

Dress shop in Turkey! You could find something so cool I bet.

I'll try that. How miserable can I make DH and FIL when they follow me around dress shopping?? LOL

  • That's definitely true for FIL - I'm his favorite person in the world right now.

  • I like Stanny's suggestion of dress shopping in Turkey.

Are there any tailors, either on or off post, that you could have make you a dress?

I would look into this in Instanbul as well, if you'll be there for a few days. A friend of mine spent his R&R in Instanbul, and over the course of just a few days, one of the local tailors made him 3 or 4 custom suits for a really decent price.

But from what I remember living there (Turkey) as a kid (granted that was YEARS ago) the wives were in agreement that Instanbul was one of the better cities in the cresecent area to go to for westernized shopping.

Making our dreams come true, one day at a time.
  • Before you leave for Turkey, print out some pictures of maternity dresses you like and take them with you. My husband and I both had clothes made in Turkey. I brought a JCPenny photo of a coat and a Victoria's Secret photo of a coat to a tailor. I told them what I liked about each jacket, they took my measurements and made me a custom wool coat for a hundred bucks.
    Twin boys due 7/25/12
  • Thanks, ladies! I'll see what I can find in Turkey.
