Need a long dress

So I'm striking out left and right on finding a dress for the Stars Ball next weekend (black tie). I've ordered things online that haven't worked, tried the department stores and WHBM and can't find a gd thing that doesn't cost a million dollars.

Any brilliant suggestions? Not online at this point.

Re: Need a long dress

  • have you tried consignment shops? i would check out buffalo exchange and this time around
  • I know it may sound super geigh but try David's Bridal. My cousin went to a military ball last weekend and found her dress there. You never would have known it came from David's. It's at least worth a try if you have exhausted all your other options.

  • 1. on south street - on the corner of the little street before front street- after 2nd. is a dress shop that has a lot of fancy stuff going on.

    2. ross 8th and market is my dress go to. they get stuff from macys.

    3. gallery mall has this insane prom dress store on the 3rd floor like near kmart. all sort of formal type gowns. also dashiki's if that is a need.

  • I have not tried consignment, but if I don't have any luck in the next couple of days, I may make a trip to Buffalo Exchange.

Ross is a good suggestion, I forgot there's one in Plymouth Meeting too.

And yuck David's Bridal, but I'm getting to the point of desperation, so I might have to.

  • Group USA in Franklin Mills - lots to choose from and reasonable prices

  • Do you have time to get to the limerick outlets? I've found some good dresses at the BCBG outlet. There's also a regular BCBG store on Walnut St (and probably at KofP).

I like their dresses b/c they don't look like bridesmaid or prom dresses.

Since I know how you love the Ross-type stores  Stick out tongue - I saw some long ones last weekend on a separate rack on the left in front of the registers. The Marshalls doesn't have any long dresses, so don't waste your time there.  Oh, Davids Bridal is right there too if needed.

    You're the best, thanks!

  • Not that you haven't heard this already 23489234098203 times but I got a gown at Group USA for that black tie wedding I went to over the summer.  Sam & Jess told me to go there and sure enough, I found something and it was like $125ish?  It was super cute and one of my friend's gal's asked me if it was BCBG.
