Biggest spider ever in the compost!!

.... CHILLS .... every time I think about this I get goosebumps!!

I saw a movement in the compost and I was thinking maybe a mole or something... no - the biggest spider I have EVER seen.  I am in Upstate NY so I have seen some big ones in wood piles and stuff, but this was huge.  And hairy.

Yuck.  I hope it's not bad to be attracting stuff like that close to the house (compost bin is about 5' from the house).  I know spiders are good but I just don't want any deciding to venture inside.  Our basement windows don't close the best.

  • That would have scared the crap out of me.

  • Oh hellz no!  My shriek would have been audible in the whole county!

Where in Upstate NY do you live?  DH and I talk almost every day about our future forever home in Ithaca.
