Disposable Diapers Question

How long did your babies use each size?

I am stocking up on a year supply of diapers. Not by choice but because I won a year supply of Huggies and the coupons will expire at the end of the year. (My baby will be three months old when the coupons expire.) Also, the coupons could only be use one at a time, so everytime I go to the store.. I just pick up a pack.

So far, I bought five jumbo sizes 1, eight jumbo sizes 2, twenty jumbo sizes 3, and three jumbo sizes 4.

Should I keep buying 3s or should I buy more 4s?

Re: Disposable Diapers Question

  • I'd stock up more on the size 4.  DD has been in that size for almost 8 months now - by far the longest-used size for both our kids!

  • Colin is weighing in at 23 lbs at 11 months... he has chunky legs and belly and I'm just moving him in to Size 4 diapers. He's been in size 3 since probably 6 months I would guess.

  • I don't remember early on exactly how many months for each size, but I think we were in size 3-4 basically from 1-2 years old, we started pull-ups at around 27 months.  We only bought a couple packages of 5's because we went to pull-ups before she was really in this size.
  • Do you have to use the coupons at a certain store? I am not a fan of Walmart, but they will take ANYTHING back. If it was me I would buy them all there and then you can just return them for the size that you really need when the time comes.

I was going to suggest the possibility of returning later too. I can't remember really but I feel like Owen was in 3s for quite a while. EIther 3s or 4s. Sorry I don't remember exactly.

    This.

They should do an even exchange at least. BTW, how did you win a year's supply?

  • Audrey has been in 3's for the last 5 months and shows no signs of going anywhere else in the near future :)

  • First of all, congrats on the free diapers!  That is a huge money saver!  E was in 3-4 for quite awhile, and we've been in 5's now for the last few months.  She isn't really chunky, I just think the 5's fit better than the 4's now.  Hopefully we will be ditching them altogether in the next few weeks!
  • When we used sposies with P, she was PT before she moved into 4's so 3 was the highest we went and we used a LOT of them!

  • The only problem with returning the diapers at the store is all my receipts said I paid $0 for the diapers. I don't think I could return diapers that I didn't pay any money for.. however I might be able to exchange? I think I will keep all the receipts now.. just in case.

I got the coupons from The Ellen DeGeneres Mother's Day Show. It was only a 6 month supply, but my guest/friend who I brought with me gave me her coupons as well. (She wasn't planning on using disposable diapers).

You wouldn't even need your receipt at Walmart. Just keep track of which packages you buy there (mark them somehow) and once you move up a size just take a bunch of them in and get a different size. I think that you can only do that 4 times a year (w/out a receipt) but if you took 10 back at a time that wouldn't be bad.

How many packages of diapers do they consider a 6 month supply?
