Vent- carpet cleaners (longg)

We paid for stanley steamers to come out and clean our carperts over two weeks ago. That day, I noticed it didn't look very good. We could have done better with our home shampooer. But, we were told that they were still wet and would look and smell better after it dried and had been vaccumed. So, we waited and didn't say a thing.

That day...we were not home (probably the first mistake) and when we got home, they were outside packed up taking a smoke break waiting on us. They hadn't even been at our house for more than an hour. They got in our house at 3:30 and we were pulling in the driveway at 4:15.

They supposedly moved all our furniture: sofa, loveseat, full size dinning room table with 6 chairs, small glass 4 person table with chairs, and 2 heavy dvd storage cabinets and hooked up their machines and steamed cleaned our living room, dinning room, hallway, den and family room, and put it all back together and had time to load their truck and light cigerates all in 45 min?!?! There were only two of them.

Well, after waiting and being discussed at how the carpets looked and smelled worse than they did before they came out, I made a call. They couldn't come out until June 1st! Which made me mad, they wanted me to wait over 2 weeks for them to come out and see what a shady job they did?! I voiced my concerns but they didn't have any other option. So, last night Dh tells me he had to change his schedule and I would have to call and change the carpet appointment.

When I told her that we would have to reschedule she hastly says, "this problem has been going on for far too long" at what point I wanted to BLOW UP instead I just stated, "that's NOT my fault". Then, she was nice and rescheduled, but I am soo pis$ed! Now we have to wait until June 7th for them to come out again!!!

Who does that?!?

I'm so tired of this! Our house is in a mess (had to move office computer and other smaller furniture into a room they were not cleaning during all of this) and I am NOT a happy customer! I really, truely hope they send a manager out and not the two men that did this! I really just want to call corperate and chew them a new one and get my $ back so I can use someone else! Ugh!!!

Re: Vent- carpet cleaners (longg)

  • That's ridiculous.  I remember moving into an apartment in college - when we showed up they were cleaning our carpets in the apartment (maybe 1000 sq ft total - 4 bedroom apt).  It took them 2 hours and there was no furniture in there.  I find it really hard to believe that anything happened in 45 minutes with furniture being moved...

I hope their visit on June 7 gets things resolved!

  • I was surprised that the carpet was even wet at all. Our family room and living room are not 'small' rooms either....Confused

    Ugh! Totally discussed!

  • I would definitely be calling corporate.  Now.  While you're still angry.
  • Just wanted to share, we use Chemdry to clean our carpets. They are great! Very clean carpets, and because they do no shampoo, it dries in 1-2 hours. It may just be a local CA company, but I would suggest looking into it the next time you need to clean.

Thanks! I think we do have them around here! I'll have to check them out!

  • I personally think that you should get some of your money back for all of the poor service they've given you.
