suggestion for weekend getaway

DH and I want to go away for our anniversary in October.  We were thinking of Nantucket, but with off-season ferry schedules, this is not going to work.  Any suggestions and places to stay within a couple hours drive would be much appreciated.  BTW, first time leaving Olivia overnight...so we don't want to go too far. TIA

Re: suggestion for weekend getaway

  • Hi Christina -

You could try North Conway, NH or Ogunquit, Maine. Those are our favorite places to stay.

www.ogunquit.com - we are going to Gorges Grant tomorrow and got a great internet special for the rate.

There are lots of hotels in North Conway as well to suite any budget.

    Good luck!

  • I agree with Maine! We love Kennebunkport and have been twice- it is beautiful in the fall. It is only 2.5 hours away! We're taking a trip to Camden, ME in October.

Also try the Cape, for an island-y feel without the ferry. Jesse's dad loves Chatham.

    Have fun!!

  • THere is an awesome little bed and breakfast in NH near conway area and october is a super time of year up there

we loved it on your ann last year

let me know if you have questions

  • I second Ogunquit, ME & stayed @ Gorges Grant.  We did a weekend there this past winter.  It's right near the Kittery outlets if you're a shopper; it's also close to Kennebunkport.
