If you use OCM...

What, if any, scrub/exfoliating product do you use?  Right now I use a baking soda scrub and I loooove it, and I'd hate to stop using it, but if I have to then I guess I will.

Thanks!

Re: If you use OCM...

  • I have an exfoliating wash cloth that I use in the shower every couple of days with just water.  I try not to put anything else on my face other than the oil because it was such a balancing act trying to find the right oil mixture in the first place.

  • I make a sugar scrub by mixing some of my OCM oil and some white sugar.

You could use baking soda instead, if that works for you. No particular reason not to - I find it helps to occasionally exfoliate.

  • I use the Alba enzyme/scrub. I've had a big bottle for a long time and its worked well for me.

I may have to try this!  I think the baking soda might be part of the reason my skin is drying out but I haven't found a scrub that comes close to exfoliating like it does.

  • I use an aspirin/honey mask.  I think the type of exfoliation you should use depends on you skin type but for my acne prone skin, aspirin/honey helps reduce inflammation as well as moisturizes.  I usually throw some tea tree oil in as well.  HTH!

    Me too.

I also occasionally do a mask of strawberries, lemon, and olive oil.

I'm going to have to try this on my back.  Probably TMI, but the skin on my back is weird and will entirely flake off for no particular reason.  This happened last night, and after exfoliating with a wash cloth, the skin was red and burning.  At least I was able to clear it up with my jobajoba/ tea tree oil mix, but I bet this would be better.

After I had so much success with this, I made up a batch for my sister.  About a week later, she called me and said "I would actually pay you money to make this for me again, I like it that much".  I hope you like it as much as I do!

  • I just use a rough wash cloth every day when I do OCM.  It's been great.
