  • my mom died suddenly in june so i have an idea of what you are going through (i hate saying i know what your going thru, no one truly knows but you) but there is difference between losing a life partenr to death and to another woman

Maybe that was her way to shockingly tell you to BUTT OUT of her life.

    I agree!

Maybe she's still hurt from her H leaving her? How would you feel?

It seems like you see your MIL's situation as 'oh well the jerk left time to move on with your life' and with your mom, a terrible tragedy from which she should take as much time as she needs to grieve. I'm very sorry for the loss of your father, but no matter what a jerk your MIL's ex was, she is still also dealing with a loss, however different, and deserves to grieve in her own way as well.

Ditto. I couldn't have said it better myself.
