For Those Who Did DIY Wedding Flowers

Did anybody order online flowers for their wedding, and if so, from where? Did you have a good experience? One of my friends/BMs is wanting to go the non-florist route for her wedding, but I don't think we really have any wholesale flower places here. Any suggestions are appreciated. TIA!

Re: For Those Who Did DIY Wedding Flowers

  • I ordered mine "wholesale" from a local HyVee and had a good experience.  I ordered in bunches so they were willing to give me the bunch pricing.  (Bunches is the quantity that flowers come in--i.e. ranunculus come in bunches of 10 stems).  You could negotiate with a local florist and see if they would be willing to order wholesale for you.

I have some DIY flower info in my planning bio.

I have heard good things about Sam's Club's bulk flowers.

  • I ordered our flowers (gerbera daisies) online from Sam's and they were awesome!  The price was great (if I remember right, it was less than $150 for 160 stems) and the flowers were in great shape.  A friend of my mom's did the arranging for me (put the bouquets, corsages and bouts together, prepped them for the centerpieces).   I was very happy we went that route for our flowers.

There are some pics in my bio in Photo Galleries, under Wedding.  They're just pics my friend took so they're not the best quality, but you can see the flowers in some of them.

To second this, Sam's had gerberas in the store last week and they were beautiful. Every single one of them were awesome, and they were $4.99 after tax per bunch. That is just for in store though, I don't know anything about ordering online, but I would trust them.

  • Thanks, ladies! Sam's sounds like a great option; I'll pass the info along to my friend!
  • I also used Sam's

The flower quality was great and for the price you can't beat it.  I will say mine weren't the exact pink I ordered, but when it comes to pinks and oranges they said their might be a variation depending on what is available.
