well he moved his stuff out today

He thought it would be super emotional for me and that I'd be a sobbing mess. Not so much.

I'm PISSED he's being a COWARD. I know my son's only 6 months old (maybe thank goodness he's only 6 months old), but it was hard to watch my son watch his dad walking out on his family.

Re: well he moved his stuff out today

  • That sounds hard, but good for you for staying strong -- and for staying PISSED, which you should be!
  • Know what's funny? After all of that, he forgot his dirty laundry!

  • so you can toss it in his yard, someone's trash can (probably not a good idea but tempting), or just let it sit in a plastic trash bag until he remembers it..... hope he remembers it soon- it may end up getting moldy from being sealed up if there is any dampness in the clothes......

    hhhmmmmm.

or check pockets to make sure nothing valuable is there.

  • Look at it this way -

When people show you who they are - BELIEVE THEM!

He is being a sh*t walking out - but he is really showing you who he is, and he is doing his son a favor.  He may fade so far into the background by the time your son is 2 or 3 that he'll be demoted to BD (biological dad status) and if you choose to get into another relationship, I have a feeling THAT guy will be - just be default - more the dad your son truly deserves than this poor sob of a man.

He's showing you - just believe him.  Don't buy into the fantasy of what he could be or should be - see what he is, protect your son, and move on!!

Check his pockets and then bleach them.  You were just trying to be helpful. Wink

  • I know here we have a place where we can re-sell gently used clothing for $$. Do that or burn it!! :)
  • "Clothes? Oh my! I thought that was stuff you didn't plan on keeping . I gave them away to the Salvation Army/Goodwill/church thrift shop. Nooo, I didn't check the pockets, why?"

There is a standing rule in my house.... anything left in the pockets come washday belongs to ME! I once got a $50 that x had left in his pockets. That almost covered the replacement cost of a blouse he ruined when he ran a load of laundry with a pen in his pocket. The rule stands today. If I have to empty a pocket, then contents are mine by default.
