Back from NOLA

Man, what a great 2-day trip with my husband.  I don't think a 2-day trip could've been done any better.

Got there Wednesday afternoon, walked around and had lunch at Hard Rock while we waited for our room to get ready.  Went to Acme Oyster House for dinner, and had chargrilled oysters and fried crawfish tails - neither of which I would EVER eat, but both were absolutely delicious. :)  Then, against my better judgment, proceeded to the casino.  My husband won over $400 playing poker and I won $65 at blackjack.  That basically paid for all of our spending money for the trip!  Then, we briefly hit Bourbon St which was dead by the time we got there.  But  . . . I did ride the bull at one of the bar - which I've always wanted to try but been too afraid to do.  Haha . . . and Joe did it too.

Thursday, we were lazy bums in our beautiful free room most of the day, and let the oysters from the preceeding night take the rumored effect Wink

Later, we went on the best tour that I have done so far there.  It was a haunted pub crawl, and the tour guide was the husband of Bloody Mary that you may have seen on Travel channel.  After the tour, the guide proceeded to hang with us for a couple more hours having drinks and dropping all kinds of additional spooky knowledge on us at a former brothel.  So awesome.  Then, we headed back to Bourbon to party.  Mostly just sat at one bar talking to some locals and enjoying 3 for 1 beers.  Walking around a little bit and hit some other bars as well.

Before we left on Friday, we went down to the French market, saw the St. Louis cathedral and lunch at Margaritaville.

Overall, awesome mini-trip - and now I have the weekend to recooperate my liver, tummy, and legs :)
