My grocery deal :)

I went to Kroger tonight (It's a grocery store here, not sure if you ladies have one, or would have the same deal or not).

They had Tyson Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breasts on sale for....drumroll....$1.68/lb!!!!!!!!!

This is a great deal considering their sale is usually only $1.99.  I bought 37 lbs of chicken (20 packages) for only $62!!!! (Saved $70.53).  I will spend tomorrow am trimming and cleaning it and portion it into freezer bags for the deep freeze in the garage (it's a lot easier this way when I go to make dinner, no trimming necessary and I pull out one bag enough just for me and DH!).

Anyway, just wanted to AW- maybe you girls have a kroger and the same deal you can stock up too.

Re: My grocery deal :)

  • wow!  that's a great deal!  the nearest kroger is about 45 minutes away
  • that's great! frozen chicken breasts are usually $2 something a lb. but i can't get over that a whole chicken is .69 a lb at costco!

i know you like fresh chicken breasts though, so that really is a terrific deal. do yall have a deep freezer? we do and love that we're able to stock up like that if we find a great deal!

  • That is a great deal. I want to do something like that (except with beef as DH doesn't like chicken) once we get room for a deep freezer.

    Great job!

Yup, we do have a deep freezer :)  It feels good to stock up and save money!

  • That is a really great deal!  I just paid 2.99/lb for chicken breasts.  Sad  I wasn't happy to do it, but I needed chicken and I didn't feel like driving to a different store in hopes of getting it cheaper.
