T&Ps please

We had a bit of a scare earlier this week.  I went in to the doctor's to check out the awful pain I've been having TWICE before they concluded I was having contractions (didn't say BH or labor, but they did say my cervix was softer than it should be).  Ugh.  They told me to stay home on bed rest this week and take some medicine to relax the uterus, so we'll see if anything has changed by the appointment next week.  So far, I haven't had any more pain, so yay!  But it's a HUGE bummer that I'm stuck on the couch and DH's birthday was yesterday.  I couldn't even bake him a cake. :-(  And the boss just told me to stay home regardless of any change next week, as they can get by without me and premature labor is a pretty scary thing to even have as a possibility.  So I guess I'm being forced on maternity leave early.  That's three months of pay we were counting on, and what on earth will I do all day...  Sigh.  Thanks, gals.

  • Oh I'm sending good babies vibes to you!

Please, just rest. She's right -- premature labor is NOT what you want. Having a baby in the NICU is just awful so put your feet up, relax and feel pampered!

    Keep us updated!

  • I am sorry that you have to be on bed rest, but it is for the best. The most important thing (in which I am sure you know) is to rest comfortably so the baby can be safe and mature. Definitely sending you all the thoughts and prayers you can stand, please keep us updated and have your dh get you some great reading material!

  • You are in my thoughts.  Please stay off those feet!  Happy and healthy rest of your term!
  • Sending lots of thoughts and prayers to you.  Hope that this is just a short blip and not something you have to do for the rest of your pregnancy.

  • I am sorry you are on bed rest, but agree with others...much better that than premature labor.  Good luck, and will be thinking of you.
  • I'm sorry. You are in my thoughts.  I hope it won't last very long, but it's definitely for the best right now.

  • So sorry that your going through this.  Scary and stressful at the same time, not fun at all.  Trite as it sounds, try to rest as much as you can.  Hopefully the meds will work their magic and you can go from there.  Best wishes for a speedy improvement!

  • That sounds very irritating and tough but the best thing to do. I hope your time on bed rest goes smoothly.
  • sending lots & lots of t&ps your way, send your dh out to get you lots of great dvds and get lots of nice relaxation in
  • Sending you my thoughts! Maybe you can catch up on some TV series online or learn to knit? I know it will be hard, but I hope you get through it easily and quickly!
  • Sending lots of good thoughts for the rest of the pregnancy and a full term, healthy baby.

  • Oh, that really sucks. Sending lots of vibes your way.

Chronically hilarious - you'll split your stitches!
I wrote a book! Bucket list CHECK!
  • Bed rest would drive me crazy, but it would be better than preterm labour.  Fingers crossed your doctor appointment goes well.

  • That sucks. Do take it easy, and I hope the board will help keep you occupied/entertained a little at least.
  • I'm so sorry, I hope you start to feel better soon! Sending vibes/thoughts/prayers your way!
