Baby shower ?, coursage for mom to be?

Clearly I havent attended any baby showers lately.  If I am hosting one do I need to buy the guest of honor a coursage or is there is somthing else thats done for her these days?

TIA

Re: Baby shower ?, coursage for mom to be?

  • All of the baby showers that I have been to, the guest of honor has had some type of corsage.  The most common, obviously is flowers.  One really crafty gal came up with this corsage that had a pacifier, flowers and ribbons.  It was really cute.

  • Depends on the mom to be.  My first reaction was "Good God no."  I already stood out enough at my shower, I didn't need something pinned to my pretty dress.

  • I'm from the Northeast, and I've never seen the mom to be wear a corsage!
  • They have sashes now that say Mom to Be. That could work if you are not crafty. I am planning a baby shower now and I don't plan to do either :)

  • For my sister, we made a coursage out of baby socks. It was pretty easy to make and I was amazed at how pretty it looked! My sister got a kick out of it!

  • I recently went to a shower where the mom to be got to take home the floral arrangement- IMHO, much cooler than the corsage!

  • I have never in my life seen the mother-to-be wear a coursage, or a sash for that matter.

Honestly, it's pretty easy to tell who the guest of honor is - she's the pregnant one, and is typically more dressed up than the other ladies.  There's no need for a coursage or sash to make her stand out.

  • I can't say that I have ever seen (or remember seeing) the mom to be wear a corsage or a sash.  I like the ideas of the corsage made up of a baby socks or the pacifier.
  • I just gave a baby shower and I bought a coursage made out of baby socks. The mom-to-be loved it! I also let her take home the floral arrangement I had on the food table.

  • I have been to a few baby showers and most had a corsage for Mom to Be, I have seen the baby socks ones, they are really cute.
