Wow...there is no one on this weekend

And I'm SO farking bored...

started my taxes today. And the first time home buyer tax credit is driving me insane. And to top it off, Danny is being a butt. I hate it when he calls me from work and b!tches about his day at work, then gets mad when I don't want to sit on the phone and listen to him whine.

Plus today he was LOADED with questions about our tax returns and when I tried to explain it to him, he started talking to a customer. You know, if you're going to call me when you're still working/not on break, don't get pissy when I get sick of repeating myself. GRRRR....

So...anyone out there?? Wanna b!tch with me? I want company...Sad

Re: Wow...there is no one on this weekend

  • I'm here! I know exactly what you mean with the customer thing. At least say hold on or something.

I feel terrible. I'm sick of this pregnancy stuff already. I feel like I have a terrible hangover every day with the nausea and fatigue. I've been sleeping as much as possible, some days as much as 15 hours! It's so annoying. My house is disgusting, my work is piling up, and I can barely keep up with my grad school work. Jason is trying as best as he can to cope, but he's got school five days a week and work just as often. He spent the whole weekend working on homework, and honestly I can't expect him to do more than he's already doing, because he's been wonderful. I just wish I had my energy back!

  • Aw, sending you some energy, Amanda! Even though I don't have much to give these days either. I'm not PG (POAS two days ago to make sure) but I have had minor nausea and been fatigued since Sunday night. I can only imagine how you must feel!!

And yeah, he doesn't say "hold on," he just starts talking to someone else!! Then says, "What were you saying?" Ugh. It really grinds my gears.

  • I KNOW!  I've been bored too.  Not too many complaints about the weekend though, other than that I've been sick and it snowed 8".

Good things from this weekend: $8 pair of Gap jeans on clearance at the outlet, in my newly shrunken size/ length (I've somehow dropped 2 sizes since the wedding),  V-Day card for the husband, and grocery shopping for under $100 for the week.

    What did you all do?

Hang in there hun!   Your energy will return before you know it!  I had a terrible 1st trimester between always throwing up and extreme fatigue.  I started feeling better around 12 weeks and feel like myself again (well with a belly and some back aches).  It gets overwhelming at times, but the 2nd trimester comes really quick :)

  • i hate to even think about taxes.  Ours will be some complicated.  We have to find someone to do them this year.

i have been doing Dave's v-day gift and laundry today.  So it's not very exciting around here.  Dave is gone every weekend this month and all next month too.  We are on opposite schedules and it really suxs!

I cured my baby fever by volunteering at our churches nursery today.  15 babies under the age of 2.  it was CRAZY!  I was glad I was able to give the babies back and go home to a quiet house! :)

  • Thanks for the well wishes :-)

Mary - congrats on losing two sizes! That's awesome!

Charlsie - I'm with you on the taxes thing. Obama totally screwed us with that reduced tax liability thing. They ended up only taking $23 out of Jason's taxes for federal last year and barely anything for state, either. So now we are getting $1500 less back on our federal refund, and we OWE $507 to state! GAH!

I was laid up all weekend. Been burbly all week (and don't know why), and yesterday a monstrous sinus headache knocked me on my azz. I slept at least 17 hours yesterday. Today I went right to my mom's after church and spent 5 hours on taxes. Now I'm nesting for some relief.

  • Charlsie--Yeah, I've lost my baby fever too...but it was from people constantly asking if I was pregnant because I've been nauseated all week.

Mary--Great job on losing 2 sizes!! I wish I could do that. I have however lost 3.5 pounds since the beginning of the year.

  • Sarge - 3.5 pounds is still a great start!

I'm actually down a pound and a half because of the nausea, which is fine with me. I'm considered "obese" by BMI so I need to really watch my weight gain and not gain more than 15-20 pounds total with this pregnancy.

Yeah, I'm "obese" too. It really sucks. For my height (5'3") they say my ideal BMI is between 125 (at THE lowest) and 140 (borderline overweight) Yeah, I haven't weighed that much since I was 16. I'm planning on losing 40 pounds by the end of my Day Zero list so I'd like to be 150. Still "overweight" but I'd be happier.

This is crazy!  Looking at your pictures you look far from obese!  Your doctor told you thats how much you can gain or you just looked at the BMI?  I don't like the BMI.  I feel like some girls weight is a lot more than they actually look.

Yeah, I hate the BMI too. If I remember correctly from health class (don't quote me), you have a healthy range of 20 pounds, then the top of that range plus 20 more pounds is "overweight" for your age/height, then the top of the "overweight" range plus another 20 pounds is "obese." So I'm just a fatty-fat-fatty...Stick out tongue

I've lost maybe 5lbs.  My shape is somehow changing so that clothes fit me better.   IDK, no complaints here though.

  • I'm pretty sure I'm at the highest end of the "overweight" category in BMI.  They don't expect for girls who are 5'5" to have DDDs.  Those suckers are heavy!

This exactly! I'm 5'5" and DD and have an overall hourglass shape.  I don't think it takes into consideration us curvy girls at all :)

They don't account for girls who are 5'3" to have DDDs either!! And (a little TMI, but will make you giggle) I weighed them once to see exactly how much of my weight was boobs (because I joke they are half my body weight). Each boob weighed approximately 5 pounds. That's TEN POUNDS of junk just hanging from my neck each day. No wonder my back hurts.

  • Yeah, I'm sure mine weigh 10lbs at least.  I've come to terms with my BMI being wholly inaccurate though- no one really cares other than my Wii Fit.

  • I'm 5'7" but I weigh 190 and I don't have big boobs. I carry all the weight in my butt and thighs lol. To be back into a healthy BMI, I need to be 155. I am very blessed to have a very defined small natural waist, so that makes me look a lot smaller than girls of comparable height/weight.  The reason I shouldn't gain too much with the pregnancy is that women in my category have a much lower chance of losing baby weight if they gain more than that. I already have the necessary fat stores available for baby, so I really should just add baby/uterus weight.

  • Mary--and I bet the Wii Fit is a b!tch about it too, huh??

Amanda--I have a very small, defined waist also, so people don't believe me when I tell them I weigh 190 pounds. If my boobs weren't so heavy and stayed UP where they were supposed to, I'd look even slimmer. My torso is so short, an empire waist IS my natural waist!!

  • ouchie! but great job on the weight loss!

I'm self employed so the taxes add up quickly.  I didn't make as much as I didn't last year so i'm hoping I don't have to pay that much.  Last year I paid over $5000 in self employment taxes.

Anyhoo....what channel is the grammys on tonight?

    anyone watching?

  • Now, see, I have a really long torso. Like, most shirts drive me crazy because I'm constantly pulling them down lol. I have short legs, and a long torso. Such a weird combo. Honestly, if I could just get back down to 170 after-baby, I would be super happy. I don't put too much stock into the BMI thing, but I DO want to be more healthy. I'm hoping that once the exhaustion and nausea subside, I can start running again. I love running and I want to be healthy for the baby, so I really want to make sure I'm exercising.

  • Hi girls, I'm just popping in.  Killing time before Desperate Housewives starts.  We had a kid's birthday today and went to Dave's cousin, who has a 18mo daughter.  We now both want a kid, like now.  JK.  We are also planning three trips for this year.  We nee d to get some traveling out of our system.

Congrats to you ladies who had lost weight.  I do not go as much by BMI, like some others have said.  I am 5'1 and if I gain one pound, I will be overweight.  I am also a little curvy and large chested for my height.  Most of my weight is on my butt and thighs (hope that's not TMI).  My Dr. actually said that's better, because I guess it puts less stress on your heart.

  • Amanda--what I wouldn't give for a long torso. If my bra is PERFECT, it looks like my boobs are lower than my belly button.

Mel-- I wish my weight was in my butt/thighs. They are actually pretty tiny for my weight. My weight is in my boobs and in my tummy. I have the pooch from hell. It just won't go away no matter what I do.

  • BMI is bullsh!t. It doesnt take into account any muscle mass. Its not an accurate way to determine anything and I'm surprised its still used.

  • I totally agree with this. When I went to the nutritionist 2 years ago she told me where my goal weight was (125!!) based on BMI. I told her the last time I weighed 125 I was 14 years old. There's no way my body will let me get back to 125 short of an eating disorder.

I say as long as all of your body organs are fine and you can excercise without passing out, and you eat healthy who cares what your weight is.

And on that note, I think ladies pants should be sized according to waist measurements. If I have to wade through a sea of 14-18 sized pants and none of them fit properly, they at least need a better way to size them.

  • Yeah, the thing I totally agree with is mac's comment. I thought I hit quote instead of reply...guess not.

  • I agree that BMI is nonsense. Last year when Ty and I joined our gym we got a free personal training and health info session. I am 5'3'' and 125lbs and she told me I was at the "high end of normal" and that my ideal weight should be 111lbs. Admittedly I used to weigh that when I started college, but I was also doing ballet 4-5 days a week.

I was so upset that I was "overweight", even though deep down, I know it's not true. I honestly think that one day at the gym made me more insecure about my body than anything else ever has.

I am right there with you on this one. I am 5' 7" and a G - yes, there is actually a size G. since I am a 34g, I am very odd shaped. I hate BMI and wish it would die, although I know I need to loose a little weight, I have been working out for over a year and the bra size just went from 36 to 34 and never changed size (hard to make tissue go away:) )

  • I was pretty busy this weekend, cleaning all day Saturday and having people over on Sunday.... sorry =(

BMI sucks.  I try not to pay attention to it because, ya know what?  It's only going to get me more depressed.  I just do what I can to eat better, exercise more, and whatever happens happens.  At least I can say I'm trying.  I know I'll never be super-modelish, but I don't need to be.  And I really have no one to blame for any weightgain other than myself, so therefore the only person I can get mad, or happy at, about gaining or losing respectively, is me!

And on that note, who's going to the gym today after work?  I know I am... i gotta... I ate way too much crap this weekend and need to get back on track... just like every other Monday. ;p
