30 Day Shred

I bought the DVD the other day with the hopes that I'm gonna get myself out of bed every morning and do it to lose weight and get in shape.

Have any of you done it?  Does it work?

Also, am I supposed to do all 3 workouts each time or do I slowly work myself up to it?

Re: 30 Day Shred

  • It is a really good workout and it is tough. You start off with level 1 and do it till it gets too easy, then move on to level 2 and then move on to level 3.
  • I did my first workout (Level 1) on Christmas day and have done it every other day since then.  (I use it on days I don't run) I LOVE IT!

It's short, but it's a pretty good workout. I was INCREDIBLY sore after the first time I did it.

If you want to lose weight, just adding the shred alone probably won't do much, you'll need to watch your calorie intake too.

  • The Shred will definitely help you get in shape, but as a pp said, it alone will not cause weight loss (you burn, at most, 150 calories doing the workout).  Weight loss is 75-80% diet, so to lose you really need to change what you eat.

  • Thanks, ladies.

Yeah, I'm planning to cut calories, too.

  • I've done it and I love it.

I spread it out over 64 days so I had a day or so off in between each workout.  Though many have been able to do it consecutively for 30 days.  I lost 12 pounds and a lot of inches so I was pleased.

You do 10 days at each level before moving to the next level.  It will kick your butt so good luck.  For the best weight loss results you will need to watch your calorie intake.

  • For those of you that have done this, would it do me any good to do once per week?

I don't want to give up my running days, but I'd love to substitute this for my Sunday workout, so I can be at home with my family.

Or do you HAVE to devote yourself to the DVD almost every day?

  • It definitely tones your muscles. I recommend. As a previous poster said though, be sure to watch what you eat. I'd also try and include some other form of exercise. It's easy to get sick of the 30 DS quickly.

  • I think if you are working out on the other days of the week (running, swimming, lifting, whatever) then the 30 day shred would be a good little sunday workout for you. Certainly if you ONLY did the DVD once a week and NOTHING else, it wouldn't do much! But I think it will work well for your plan.
