AW: Half Way Mark!

Today's treatment was the half way mark! Only three more weeks to go. Wish me luck that they go as fast as the last three.

15 down, 15 to go. I am looking forward to being on the downside of the mountain.

    Heck yeah!  :)

This totally reminds me of the Bomshel song 'Fight Like a Girl.' I love, love, love that song.  'With style and grace, kick ass and take names...'

Thanks Andrea :-) I feel ok. Yeah, there are side effects. Basically my worst nightmare in all of this was the possibility that I could lose my sense of taste. Well... I did. It's soooo sad. So far my company is supporting me as we are hopeful it is temporary, but as you can image it's devastating both professionally and personally... and mostly emotionally. What's worse than not having a sense of taste is taht everything I eat or drink tastes like cardboard. It's really disgusting. And if you can believe it that's not the worst part.  It is also very painful to eat as well. So not only is eating completely void of pleasure, it also hurts pretty badly. I have to rinse and swallow a mix of lidocaine and something else before every meal and am starting to take a nerve receptor inhibitor to help deal with it. Fun, fun, fun.

    Wow that got long! LOL

  • YAY!!!!!

that 29 down, 1 to go will be here before you know it!

No, probably not. But I already had my thanksgiving meal so it's all good. It will definitely be at least 6 weeks after treatment for it to come back if it's going to. It could take years to fully get my senses back in order.

  • go gerrie!!

I'm praying and thinking of you everyday and sometimes more.  I just know that you'll get your senses back.  You're kicking cancers ass.

I'm sorry, Gerrie.  That really sucks.  I can't even begin to imagine. I'm so glad you work for such a supportive company.

Have you lost all desire to eat?  Do you still get cravings for things?
