In The Spirit of Halloween

Re: In The Spirit of Halloween

  • Nasferatu. Best horror movie ever made.

  • Does The Beast in The Sandlot count as scary?

    I hate scary movies.

    Twin boys due 7/25/12
  • I also hate scary movies, but I LOVE to watch The Changeling (from the 70s, not the Angelina Jolie one). It cracks me up every time ... if you can get through the really sad beginning.
  • I don't really watch scary movies. I find that I giggle all the way through them. Though every year we watch "It's The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown".
  • Oh I have soo many- the old classics have somehow turned comical now but I'll say Quarantine was really scary. Dawn of the Dead, The texas chainsaw massacre, the shining, Pet semetary,  Haute Tension/High Tension was also reeeeeeeeeeally scary/creepy.

Sorry I know that's a lot of movies but i love participating in anything film related. I'm a movie geek.

  • I HATE scary movies - I even close my eyes during scary previews on tv!
  • I used to love scary movies when I was younger...now not so much.  So, my picks are kinda old school, most of which you can watch now and laugh at!

Scream, Amityville Horror, The Exorcist, Silence of the Lambs/Red Dragon

"It" was my fav when I was younger, I would never sleep after watching it, but I couldn't stop!

  • I also like a lot of the old school movies... Halloween, Amityville Horror, The Exorcist, The Omen.

Movies that scared the crap out of me when I was younger... Children of the Corn, It, Nightmare on Elm Street.

Me too...and Pet Sematary.  Children of the Corn was scary as crap...and Freddie Krugger was the scariest EVER.  My cousins locked me in a room when I was really really young with one of the Freddie Krugger movies playing....it scarred me for life!!!

Oh yes!  Pet Semetary too!  And I hate clowns now because of It!

I still have a Freddy fear. My smart parents let me watch it as early as the age of 4 and when I was younger, I had an awful Freddy dream (I was in Kindergarten) and ended up rolling off my bunk-bed, falling on the floor and had to get stitches. Someone in the family proceeded to think it would be "funny" to dress up as Freddy for Christmas (instead of Santa) and chase me and my sisters around in the snow. God we were petrified.

I've never heard of this movie before.  But I searched it, and the images that came up were pretty creepy!

  • Pet Cemetery: Oh I automatically don't like children named Gage because that movie freaked me out so bad as a kid!

Rosemary's Baby, The Exorsist = they sqeeve me out!

I love that movie.  Actually, I love all the Peanuts cartoons/movies!

  • Not really horror as it is a dark comedy but I love American Psycho!

  • Oh gosh. I laugh at scary movies but in my best friend would stay every weekend and we would watch all of the Nightmare on Elm Streets and Pet Sematary, which freaked me out especially when the little boy was under the bed and sliced the back old the old guys ankles when he walked by. Ew.
  • i love, love, LOVE the Saw movies!!

plus, i love all zombie movies!

i scare easily, but i love to be scared. :-D

  • I really don't like scary movies, but somehow I always see something.  We just watched Children of the Corn this weekend--my eyes were closed a few times.  I've seen a couple of the Saw and Freddie  movies and they are pretty scary and gross.  I hated Resident Evil with the dogs--I couldn't look and had nightmares for days.  My ex's dogs scared the crap out of me after that.

I do like the movies that keep you on the edge of your seat though.  And I haven't told my H, but I think I want to go see the new Stepfather movie.

    Lisa Beth

  • The Nightmare before Christmas

Haha yeah its as scary as I go :P

  • Blair Witch Project! After I saw it I didn't go into the dark , sleep alone and I couldn't close any doors of a room I was in for months!!, by far the worst experience of my life. I hate that movie, it should be illegal for being so freaking scary!!
  • Frailty and Stigmata. Religious scary really gives me the heebie jeebies.
I've seen a lot of military surprise homecomings. It wouldn't work on me. I always have my back to the corner and my face to the door. Looking for terrorists, criminals, various other threats, and husbands.
  • Crappers- I forgot a really good one I saw. My H didn't like it but I loved it. Alice Sweet Alice...also known as Communion in some places. It was the first movie Brooke Shields was in (came out in the 70s), but she had a small role. That was a trippy Catholic movie.

It was so scary for it's time when it came out, people were passing out in the movie theaters. It's still scary to this day. A classic.

Did any of you watch Are You Afraid of the Dark? Remember the episode where the kids worked at the movie theater and the vampire came out of the screen and was trying to kill them? It was based on that movie

This is me.  I don't do scary movies.  Although I find The Exorcist hilarious!

    Blessed.

  • Silence of the Lambs

House of a Thousand Corpses/Devil's Rejects

Underworld, not exactly scary but if vampires and werewolves don't count as Halloween fare, what does??

    Bram Stoker's Dracula
